- Throughout this semester I exercised my leadership skills throughout the creation process of my watershed magazine. Since the beginning of this project I had always tried to take the leadership roles in groups, even though at times it can cause some disagreements. I believe I deserve a 95-100% grade this semester because I always strived to do my best through the magazine creation process. Even though at times my group and I had our disagreements I would always try to keep peace, move on, and strive for punctual aesthetically pleasing work.
2: What was your biggest struggle? what was your greatest success?
- Throughout this semester my biggest struggle was trying to keep my cool when things didn’t go as planned. Like any project things are bound to go wrong and mess up prior plans, at times I would take out frustrations on my group members. I realized that saying passive aggressive statements to them wouldn’t fix anything and was just cause more problems.
3: What was your role within the magazine project? What work did you do? (use specific evidence)
- I would like to think that my role in the magazine creation was “quality control”, illustrator, and writer. I habitually took over the writing pieces for the magazine which included interview edits, watershed introductions, watershed articles, and crew member descriptions. As for quality control, I tried to make sure every component going into our magazine was the best reflection of us as a watershed group and HTHNC alumni.
4: Did you contribute fully to your group? (did you complete work on time, meet deadlines, collaborate, etc?)
- I wholeheartedly believe I fully contributed to my magazine and supported group members throughout these past few months. I strived to finish my components of the magazine on time and helping my group members in anyway that I could. I’ve made sure that my work was a quality work and correlated with the message we wanted to convey through our magazine.
5: Did you make any efforts to improve upon your work from first quarter if needed, or describe how you continued to do quality work and grow from first to second quarter.
- When it came to watercolor, I at first struggled trying to find techniques that worked for me. By this second quarter I had found techniques that worked and tried to produce work that I was proud off and willing to display to the community. When watercoloring for my magazine I tried to make my products aesthetically appealing, even if it meant doing more than 2-3 drafts until I got final results that I liked.

- Reflecting back on my time in your art/multimedia class i have gained more than few skills to add to my “toolbox”. As I stated above I’ve found watercolor techniques that work for me, I’ve also improved on my Adobe Illustrator skills. The art lessons that we had throughout this semester were very enlightening and beneficial towards my all around knowledge of the world. Your open ended style of teaching was only beneficial for me as student, but as person also; your lessons on like feminism/male gaze were very eye opening. In all this semester all around was filled with knowledge, successes, and a lot of great music.
