Look @ Me Now Driving Question: How would you convey who you are solely through literary devices?
List the major steps of the project:
-One of the first steps I took was answering the self questionnaires, after answering those and checking the answers I decided it was time to start writing.
-I have to admit the writing process was a bit difficult, I don't necessarily like sharing out my "feelings", I like to keep them to myself. I was actually taking the questions to heart, processing them, and trying to answer them as honestly as possible.
-After writing I went through the peer/teacher editing process.
-Once I took the critique I received and implementing them into my writing the crafting process began.
-When pictures and poster color schemes were picked out the layout process had begun. Even though I had to take it home to complete it I was pretty satisfied with the final product.
About Yourself:
1. What is the most important thing you learned in this project?
I learned that even just a flashback story or a story of irony can tell people a lot about the type of person you are. I'd like to think my writing is based off my sense of humor, i write like I speak and that form of writing really shows through in these type of introductory projects.
2. What do you wish you had spent more time on or done differently?
I wish I would've spent more time writing because I think what I wrote for each literary device wasn't best work. I know if I had redo I would focus more on the writing and use the little time we had more efficiently.
3. What part of the project did you do your best work on?
My best work i think was the final poster, not only did my crafting skills show through, but I also put a lot of thought into what was going on the poster. The pictures did not only go with the writing pieces, but they also had some type of story or sentimental value behind them.
4. What was the most enjoyable part of this project:
Personally I think the most enjoyable part of this project was the actual poster making process, I'd like to think I'm a very crafty person so while making the poster my inner crafter came through. The picture picking process was also enjoyable like not only did I go through baby pictures, but I also had the challenge of finding pictures that correlated with my literary devices.
What was the least enjoyable part of this project?
The least enjoyable part about this project would have to be short amount of writing time we had, I felt that the few days we had was just not enough time to write, proof read, and edit everything.
How could your teacher(s) change this project to make it better next time?
This project was a good way to start off the year because not only do your peers get to know you a little bit more, but we also as humanities students got a a great refresher on literary devices. Next time I'd like to see more time for the literary write up, I felt a bit rushed during the writing process. Besides that this project was pretty successful, we got a bit of writing, english (language arts), and crafts.
